Johnny is a member of Team Van Go, a cycling group based in Dufferin County.  He has been active in the community assisting on various trail events including “The Triple Crown” and “Run, Bike, Hike Family Fun Day” event in Dufferin County as well as the current development of a 150km gravel active transportation cycling route through Dufferin County. He was a member of Dufferin County’s Forest Operations Review Committee from 2015-2017 assisting the County in developing both their Forest Operations Plan and Recreation Policy.

He believes education and cooperation of user groups to be key to the success of managing a multi-use recreation area and facilitates that belief whenever possible.  He has been constructing and maintaining trails for over 20 years and has had the opportunity of experiencing trails in many exciting locations. He enjoys anything that gets him outdoors with his wife Karen and dog Max. They are active cyclists, hikers, and trail runners. They have two sons and one grandson that all also enjoy the outdoors.
