Networking with trail use groups, trail planners, regional tourism to establish linkages to other regional Trails.
Background:
Building on our extensive experience of over 250 community meetings, over 20 regional and provincial level conferences and over 35 national meetings of trails stakeholders, Ontario Trails Council is pleased to partner with Frontenac County and The Town of Sharbot Lake on this Trailhead Event.
As with all Ontario Trails Symposiums or conferences, OTC works collaboratively with communities to create a relevant and inspirational event, helping communities build on Ontario Trails Council Membership and local participation in trails.
Our April 2019 Trailhead Kitchener Waterloo was a co-hosted event between the Region of Waterloo. City of Kitchener, the University of Waterloo and the Ontario Trails Council. Similarly, the March 2017 Trailhead Hastings was supported by Hastings County, North Hastings Economic Development Committee, and Ontario Trails Council; and the June 2016 Trailhead Renfrew was co-hosted by Renfrew County, with partnership support of the Regional Tourism Organization, Ontario Highlands Tourism Organization Unit, and Ontario Trails Council.
About Frontenac County:
Frontenac County is a public governmental organization that convenes conversations and projects in support of community well-being. Frontenac County is also the backbone organization supporting the development of recreational trails in the Frontenac region, supporting community coalitions that aims to engage all residents in the region in active transportation, on safe and connected routes linking communities.
To engage the community on issues of shared concern and create opportunities for action, the Trailhead Frontenac acts as a forum to connect and collaborate locally, by bringing trails stakeholders together with other interested residents and potential project champions.
